I’m Matthew Calcara, a 3rd-generation Kansan born and raised in Johnson County, and I am running for office because I believe that together, we can be the change we’ve been waiting for.

I’m extremely proud of my state, and I began this campaign because I want to make it an even better place to live, work, travel, shop, eat, play, go to school, start/grow a business, and be engaged in the community.

If you’d like to learn more about who I am, and what makes me qualified for the Kansas Legislature, check out Meet the Candidate – Calcara for Kansas State House District 30 page here.

Where I Stand

We need a new direction in Topeka. We need fresh ideas. We need an honest assessment of our problems so we can find the best solutions.

We need a leader who will stand up to Sam Brownback, Jeff Colyer, Kris Kobach and their allies in the Legislature.

Learn where I stand on the issues.

Your early donations help give our campaign a big leg up, and the earlier the better! We need to buy everything from walk cards and canvassing materials to yard signs and mailers, and one of the best (and easiest) ways to help is by contributing to the campaign. You can donate online or by mailing a check.

You can help however you feel most comfortable–stuffing envelopes or knocking doors or data entry or making calls or hosting a meet-n-greet. The best part? You will get to meet many of your dedicated, passionate, progressive, civic-minded neighbors in Olathe, Lenexa and from throughout Johnson County and the Kansas City area.
