VOTING IS EASY!
The primary election has arrived! Tuesday, August 7th is the day of the primary election.
All polling places are open from 7 AM to 7 PM. If you are in line to vote by 7 PM, you WILL be allowed to vote.
You will need a photo ID to vote. Your photo ID does NOT have to have your current voting address on it in order for it to be valid. The ID is simply a way of proving who you are. Again, it does NOT have to have your current address on it. Here is more information about photo ID requirements.
Need to know where your polling place is? Go to: https://voter.jocoelection.org/
Get your polling place via text
Text VOTEKS, your address and ZIP to 74574.
Within 60 seconds a return message displays your polling place.
Or you can look up your polling place information here: https://voter.jocoelection.org/
Do you still have your advance voting ballot? If so, it’s OK! Well over one-third of the ballots mailed to voters have NOT yet been returned.
Ballots can be returned to ANY polling location during voting hours, or the Election Office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day and received by Friday in order to be counted.
Unaffiliated Voters CAN Vote!
If you are an Unaffiliated voter, you CAN vote in the primary on August 7th! Simply go to your polling place as usual and upon arrival, let the poll workers know that you’d like a Democratic (or Republican) ballot.
They will have you fill out a short form to declare your party affiliation.
Please note that this will automatically affiliate you with the Democratic (or Republican) Party. To go back to being unaffiliated, simply go to www.ksvotes.org after you are done voting and re-register as an Unaffiliated voter.
